I’m waiting for an Amazon package. It said it would be delivered yesterday, but it didn’t get to USPS in time, so delivery today. Instead of hearing the doorbell ring it was a notification saying that the delivery location was inaccessible. It’s going to my house. The roads aren’t blocked and there isn’t even a gate in front - t here is absolutely no reason that the location was inaccessible . They just didn’t bother. I wonder if the truck even left the USPS lot - I wish I could track that ...

Every time I’ve gotten that notice they just didn’t have time to bother delivering to my neighborhood. Fingers crossed...

A couple weeks ago I had Fedex tell me “Customer not available or business closed” when I had been around all day and Fedex definitely hadn’t been. They made it the next day though (which is good, after the failed “delivery” the tracking updated to say they’d deliver in three days, which would have really pissed me off)
.

I d like to know where you live because in my area they absolutely have to deliver everything that comes in every day regardless of how m uch it is, and you do realize USPS is NOT the only ones who deliver Amazon, Amazon delivers their own and has their own rules, ups delivers Amazon and has their own rules, and Amazon hires private drivers to deliver also. Oh ya and if Amazon puts your package on the wrong pal et and ships it to the wrong delivery facility that's not USPS fault either it's Amazon. Could be undeliverable because it got shipped to Boston. Or it's in San Diego and needs to be shipped to the correct location. But just like everyone else in the nation blame USPS because you have no real clue what's happening to it.

I had my package tracked from Anchorage, AK to Michigan, they said it would take ten business days to receive it but I actually got it within four days. Three if the processing station in Alaska would’ve shipped it out sooner but it’s all good

Last time I got that notice, they had put it on the wrong truck and couldn't be bothered to take it to the correct part of town.

I had that the other month. Had a parcel going to a U.S. business address, made it out the U.K. quickly, then it arrived in the U.S. where it hit a go-slow, sat at customs for three days, then two days after it said it was out for delivery, then later told, ‘the address was unreadable and could not deliver, will retry tomorrow’. Sure enough the next day it got delivered.
Happens every time whether the parcel goes to Fresno, New York, Ohio, etc...
Hell, in Fresno the parcel went back and forward for five days between two depots.

Crazy, DHL took about a week to send a package from the UK to the USA; Michigan. But there tracking updates via text is pretty good.

If it was over a certain weight it will say not accessible because a carrier will not lift if it a two person lift. Amazon is good for giving big bulky items because it cost less for USPS to deliver than paying their own workers Amazon tries this all the time. Also after a certain time carriers are done the pigs not delivered has to be scanned no access to stop the clock or the managers won't get their bonus. Now you know it's not your carrier look higher up.

Ihad a F edex package, for work, we paid extra overnight for the pre 10: 30 delivery. Get a notice. Business closed.
Our office building is at an wierd intersection and some navigation apps point to the wrong building.
Call up and give directions, they had co me to the correct building, but knocked one of the emergency exit/service doors.
At teh side door you can see the parking lot with 200 cars and think “how the fuck do they get in?” to walk around the corner to see the 2 main entrances

UPS now has a tracker that shows the delivery vehicle’s location in almost real time.

I've had USPS bounce packages almost the same way. I live 1hr north of San Francisco. Shipped a part to the east coast. It left SF on a plane, landed on the east coast and then went right back to SF. Eventually got sent back again. No fucking clue

Amazon has the same tracker too and it's a piece of shit. The package end up missing once and no replacement from Amazon.

I had a notice that the package was delivered to a person and I live in a 19 floor apartment building. I called to report it missing. It then ended up in my mailbox a week later. So yes USPS is screwed up big time.

Doesn’t help on this one, but I’m addicted to the Amazon Pickup Lockers— totally puts delivery on MY terms and timeline, not the postman’s.

I generally prefer the lockers, but for some stupid reason I wouldn’t have gotten free shipping if it went to a locker. You’d think it would be easier and cheaper for them to drop at a locker location, but whatever...

At least at least you got it. I order a lot from eBay from the auction and there’s many times I don’t get my package cuz a lot of us not trackable and I’m almost positive it goes in someone else’s mailbox but they don’t have the common courtesy to call me, cuz my number is on there on every on every package, and let me know so I can come pick it up. T hey just think they won a prize and somebody got the name wrong I guess. I do purchase some cool stuff. I know this happens because I’ve gotten other people’s little packages in my mailbox, same thing- small eBay packages. but I’ll make sure I call the phone number and I’ve even ran a package to someone before. The mailman is not perfect and we’re all human and we make mistakes, but they won’t admit they made a mistake. Or even have the common courtesy to apologize. They get angry at me if I complain. I could say a whole lot more- but I’m going to get off my soap box and let the one else talk. Just remember people- we are all human and we do all make mistakes, just a little food for thought

Agreed! Amazon delivers 95% of their own stuff now in my area. Amazon drivers are idiots because they have not been trained properly! Also during Christmas season USPS delivers their own shit plus ups, fedex, and some amazon because ups fedex and amazon can’t handle the volume!

Had a similar issue today. They marked it as delivered. No one ever came to the house. No doorbell, no knock. No package left outside. But they still marked it as delivered. Not the first time this happened either. Had it happen before with ups also. Had a package get lost permanently after being marked as delivered as well.

Delivery Failures….. It happens. And it’s quite frustrating, whether you are the sender, the receiver or the delivery company. FedEx, UPS, & USPS are the 3 major delivery companies. Amazon has decided to enter the delivery service in major cities. And small companies such as LazerShip is delivering for Walmart. But who really gets blamed for these failures? The one company seen 6 days a week (sometimes on Sundays!), in every city, on every street. The United States Postal Service!
Why???? Some say the postal worker is to blame. That he or she is too lazy. Well, if this is how you think I can tell you that you are ignorant! Ignorant to the fact that most USPS facilities are short-handed. This does not just affect your local Post Offices. It affects every position at every level of the process. From the distribution centers, the sorting facilities, logistics, etc. Before mail & packages make it to the Post Office there is an array of employees that need to move them. And when there’s a hiring freeze or a deleted position it affects the flow of mail. Current employees are mandated to work 12 hours/ 6 days a week. They are tired but they are trying to do their best. Shortage of personnel is the issue. I can guarantee it is not your Postman/Postwoman.

As a former employee of USPS I can say for a fact that we were ordered to scan parcels that could not be delivered by 7-8p. They would be scanned as not accessible or as delivered then we'd delivered them the next day . It’s all done to take their daily delivery success for contracts.
